BAKERSFIELD DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS MEASURE J
Bakersfield, CA – October 24, 2016 – The Bakersfield Downtown Business Association (DBA) is pleased announce its official endorsement and support for the creatively designed and fiscally responsible Measure J. The proposed Measure J will fund $502.8 million capital projects across three Kern Community Colleges – Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community College, and Porterville College.
Bakersfield College students fuel our regions local growth and educating students nearby is a way of maintaining a youthful and bright energy necessary for the healthy vitality, community, culture, and industry of a better Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Downtown Business Association praises the creative, responsibly, and aggressive plan put forth by the Kern Community College District (KCCD) in its Measure J proposal.
Every supporter of Bakersfield College and Measure J will make it possible for this community to be one we all want to live in today and for generations to come. The passing of Measure J will ensure that this community rises to meet industry and business needs for the next 60 years. The Bakersfield DBA was established to bring successful business back to Bakersfield and serves as an advocate and promoter of businesses and economic interests in the downtown area. Bakersfield College, the Weill Institute (BC’s downtown Bakersfield campus), and all KCCD campuses are the engine for innovation, change, and progress; all three are aspects which are close to the Bakersfield DBA’s heart.
